Speaker Feature: Nick Kindler

In this speaker feature, we introduce you to Talk Boutique’s Speaker Coach & Co-Founder, Nick Kindler.

What is your position at Talk Boutique?

Well, I wear many hats. First and foremost I am a Speaker Coach. I am also the Co-Founder and Partner at Talk Boutique where I work with my partner, Andrea Sampson to develop the business. But, I am also a Keynote Speaker! My talks focus on helping leaders develop their ability to communicate with courage so they can find their consistent, authentic voice.

What is the role that conversation plays in your life?

Conversation is what drives my life forward. It allows me to me to connect and deepen my relationships with my friends, family and my clients.

How would your friends describe you in 3 words or less?

You should ask them!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time/what are your hobbies?

I’m a runner and have run a number of marathons. But deep inside I love the arts: film, theatre, books, and music.

Secret: I have a large comic book collection from my youth in my study that, when time permits, I revisit. I also listen to a lot of comedy.

What is your personal philosophy?

I have this quote by Goethe that was shared with me a long time ago and I have it at the bottom of every email.

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

If you have any idea, ambition or vision that you are thinking of moving towards, do it. Share it. Talk about it. Act on it. And it will slowly come to fruition. I believe anyone can be a speaker. They just need intention.

What is something you can’t live without?

Love. I am lucky to have two beautiful kids who I adore and a smart, beautiful and extraordinarily talented wife of 20 years who I love wholeheartedly. Family fills me up. I feel very lucky. Oh…and laughter. I must laugh daily.

What is your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?

I am torn. My favourite TED talk is one everyone knows, “Do schools kill creativity?” by Sir Ken Robinson. It was one of the first I ever watched and loved his humour and his insight into the archaic structure of our education system.

I have a number of favourite TEDx talks which I am proud to have helped shape as I have coached some wonderful speakers including Molly Shoichet, Tarek Ibrahim, Nina Mazar, and Salim Ismail. All of these talks are worth watching!

What are you most proud of?

Being part of building a company like Talk Boutique! Our company doesn’t fit the conventional mold. We really are creating something new by addressing an important unmet need in the world of business: helping individuals and businesses articulate their narrative and deliver it! At the same time, we help those who have developed their story, find venues and stages so they can share them with the world. It’s very meaningful work.
