Our Influence Is Greater Than We Believe – Using Our Thought Leadership to Build a more inclusive and hopeful future.

Apr 15, 2024 | News & Events

As Earth Day draws near, our influence as thought leaders extends far beyond what we may perceive. Richard Blundell, a thought leader and one of my clients, focuses on sustainable business practices.  Richard provides an excellent example of how thought leaders can leverage their influence to drive impactful change, fostering a vision of a better world—one that is sustainable, inclusive, and hopeful.

Richard’s current role as CEO at Fauna Photonics showcases his impact in leading a team who have pioneered innovative technologies for biodiversity monitoring lessening the environmental impact to insects and animals in our forests and gardens. Because of his influence, he has helped the business drive positive environmental outcomes through technological innovation while embracing a collaborative approach to environmental conservation efforts.

When looking at sustainability as a business practice, research consistently shows the pivotal role thought leaders play in shaping public opinion and behavior towards sustainability. According to a study published in the Journal of Business Ethics, thought leaders significantly influence consumer perceptions and attitudes towards sustainable products and practices (Hofmann & Holthausen, 2018). This influence extends to corporate decision-making, with CEOs and other thought leaders increasingly prioritizing sustainability initiatives to align with stakeholder expectations and mitigate risks (Dangelico & Pontrandolfo, 2015).

In looking at Richard’s impact, during his time as Managing Director of Cleantec at MaRS Discovery District, Richard played a crucial role in supporting a diverse array of ventures in their pursuit of sustainability-driven solutions.

Through collaborative initiatives like these, Richard has cultivated a powerful personal brand that demonstrates how thought leaders can inspire collective action towards a more sustainable future.  His brand and the work it represents showcase Blundell’s successful career as a purpose driven thought leader.

Earth Day serves as a catalyst for thought leaders to amplify their efforts and showcase their dedication to sustainability. By leveraging their platforms and expertise, thought leaders can engage stakeholders, inspire action, and drive meaningful change. Whether through social media campaigns, speaking engagements, or strategic partnerships, thought leaders have the power to mobilize individuals and organizations towards a more sustainable future.

Join me on April 26th for my bi-weekly livestream, “Conversations With Thought Leaders,” where I’ll be interviewing Richard Blundell, a seasoned expert in sustainable business practices. Together, let’s explore how thought leaders can harness their influence to create sustainable impact and income growth in a rapidly changing world.
