Rebecca Darwent

Cultural Strategist, Global Leader WEF and Philanthropic Advisor 

 Rebecca Darwent is an internationally recognized expert in philanthropy and social good. Her viral TED talk “How to fund real change in your community” showcases the power of collective giving.

Rebecca is a 2024 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Canadian Millennium Laureate and she sits on the boards of the Foundation for Black Communities and Forward Global Canada. In 2020, she co-founded the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC), spearheading fundraising, community engagement, and advocacy that resulted in a historic $200 million capital transfer to FFBC by the Canadian government and additional $25 million from philanthropic partners.

Her philanthropic advisory firm currently partners with the Gates Foundation, Philanthropy Together, and individual donors committed to community-led and collaborative philanthropy. 

Rebecca is a certified Impact Philanthropy Advisor, holds 21/64 certification, and serves as faculty at Daylight Advisors, where she co-authored the Collective & Collaborative Giving Certificate. Rebecca serves on the Board of Directors for FFBC and Forward Global Canada. She is a 2025 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a Women Leader for the World Fellow, and a Canadian Millennium Laureate.

Rebecca splits her time between Montreal and Kigali, where she spends extended time with her young family.
