Rebecca Darwent

Rebecca Darwent is an internationally recognized expert in philanthropy. Her viral 2023 TED talk “How to fund real change in your community” showcases social impact through collaborative approaches. Currently, she is a Senior Advisor on Collaboratives to Philanthropy Together. In 2020, she co-founded the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC), spearheading fundraising, community engagement, and advocacy that resulted in a historic $200 million capital transfer to FFBC by the Canadian government and additional $25 million from private, public, and corporate partners. Rebecca volunteers on the boards of FFBC, Forward Global Canada, and Laidlaw Foundation.
