In this speaker feature, we introduce you to one of Talk Boutique’s Keynote Speakers, Paul Nadeau. Paul is a police detective, hostage negotiator and author. He has trained military recruits in Jordan while acting as a peacekeeper. Aside from his law enforcement experience, Paul is a film and television actor and consultant for major news outlets on the topic of hostage negotiation and terrorism.

What is your position at Talk Boutique?

I am one of Talk Boutique’s Keynote Speakers.

What is the role that conversation plays in your life?

Conversation plays a huge role in my life – it’s what I do. I share information with others through my keynote talks and get people thinking and learning.

How would your friends describe you in 3 words or less?

Positive, cheerful, fun.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time/what are your hobbies?

In my free time I enjoy working out, writing, singing and taking long walks.

What is your personal philosophy?

Never take yourself hostage. You alone hold the key to your happiness and success. Unlock the cages of your own making and free yourself to be your absolute best. That means not listening to those little voices in your head that tell you that you can’t do something or that you’re not good enough. You are limitless.

What is something you can’t live without?

Human connection

What is your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?

It’s hard to name just one, including my own! There are just so many wonderful ones to choose from

What are you most proud of?

My daughters and my past contributions to the world. My accomplishments to date.
