There’s hope where you look for it

Around the globe we are taking never before seen precautions that include self-isolation, quarantine and social distancing. It’s evident that this pandemic has impacted our daily routines with change. Though, it’s comforting to know that amid the uncertainty, there are still moments of strength and hope that showcase the resilience, or grit, that people share in times like these that will help us get through this together.

We have found a new joy in putting these events together, and want to continue doing so for you. We do this as our way of thanking you for the support you’ve given us over the years. We have the content, we have resources, and we want to help you continue to stay engaged.

This upcoming week you can expect a similar schedule with the exception of TWO Virtual Lunch & Learns both on Tuesday, April 14, and Friday, April 17, at 12:30 pm.
As well as our “Ask Me Anything” style forum with our Changemakers20, from Wednesday & Thursday this week, also at 12:30 pm.

The Future of our Healthcare

Zayna Khayat
Health Futurist & Systems Thinking
Zayna is a futurist that’s sought after many global companies and conferences that want to get ahead in health and innovation. Her work and research have collaboratively urged her audiences to demand more in their health care. Dr. Khayat was previously the lead of health system innovation at MaRS Discovery District, a health innovation hub in Toronto, Canada. Currently, Zayna Khayat is a Future Strategist with SE Health.

There is a power shift occurring – from the healthcare provider to ‘people-powered health care.’ In this ‘patient revolution’, patients are taking matters into their own hands, now that they have more information as well as the means of production. Employers are also starting to become healthcare organizations, rather than waiting for or trying to fix the current healthcare system. Dr. Khayat brings a powerful perspective, and insight into what citizens, employers, and policy-makers must do today to enable and even catalyze positive change for tomorrow.
