In this speaker feature, we introduce you to one of Talk Boutique’s Keynote Speakers, Andrew Peek. Andrew is a serial technology entrepreneur and angel investor. He has been involved in launching a number of successful Canadian startups including FreshBooks and Shopify.

What is the role that conversation plays in your life?

As someone who is perpetually curious, conversations are what flow from interesting questions in my life. A good conversation is proportional to how interesting the question is.

How would your friends describe you in 3 words or less?

Curious, eccentric, leader.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time/what are your hobbies?

I love baseball and all its statistics. I also love yoga, backpacking, and now that I’ve fallen in love with an early-riser, I’m also falling in love with 10 p.m. bedtimes.

What is your personal philosophy?

To live within the constraints while simultaneously trying to knock them all down.

What is something you can’t live without?

Spreadsheets.

What is your favourite TED/TEDx talk and why?

Elizabeth Gilbert’s Your Elusive Creative Genius. She’s just so damn eloquent without compromising on accessibility or resonance. It’s also a fascinating topic that hasn’t been explored since the birth of Humanism.

What are you most proud of?

My sisters. They’re among the most beautifully strong individuals I know.
